Blue Tits Nesting

Image
After observing the Blue Tits for a few days scoping out the box, I've noticed today that it looks like they are moving in, judging by the nesting materials this bird is delivering. Its a snug fit for this bird, but it manages to squeeze in and out quite easily though.     And then its off to find more moss and straw for the nest.

Surprise

I had a surprise this morning when I looked into the Robins nest. I didn't know that they would lay this early. I think they have very recently been laid. Look forward to the hatching.

Nesting Robins

Earlier this year I relocated my Robin box higher up from the ground. I was pleased to see that they had taken to it so well. I placed my trail camera to capture this video.

2023

So we are into the new year of 2023. The weather has been up and down and mainly very cold. As you can see from this photo, we are getting snow in March, which is rare but not unheard of. It has happened before. I have lots of things going on at home at the moment so I've not been taking many photos recently. I couldn't resist though when I saw this male Sparrow Hawk on the fence. He's obviously on the hunt for food because of the colder weather. Lots of small birds come into the garden to feed, so it's easy pickings for him! I'll soon be setting-up my trail camera to catch some more wildlife. The hedgehogs will soon be mooching about.
